Meet Delray Beach Oral Surgeon Ronald L. Katz, DMD

Dr. Ronald Katz is a South Florida native who grew up in Coral Springs, Florida. He completed his undergraduate studies at Florida State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. He went on to receive his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University in Boston, where he was awarded the prestigious Merritt Scholarship for academic excellence for four consecutive years.

During dental school, Dr. Katz was selected as a Tufts Ambassador and participated in an international study program at the Klinik und Poliklinik für Mund-, Kiefer- und Gesichtschirurgie at Universitätsklinikum Heidelberg in Germany, gaining advanced exposure to complex oral and maxillofacial surgical care.

Dr. Katz completed his specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Nova Southeastern University, where he served as Chief Resident. His hospital-based surgical training included Broward General Medical Center, Memorial Regional Hospital (formerly Hollywood Memorial Hospital), Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, and Baptist Hospital of Miami. Upon completion of residency, he was awarded the Outstanding Service Award by the North Broward Hospital District in recognition of his clinical excellence and dedication to patient care.

Dr. Katz is a Board-Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and brings over two decades of experience in the full scope of adult and pediatric Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. His clinical practice includes orthognathic and reconstructive jaw surgery, wisdom teeth and complex dentoalveolar surgery, intravenous sedation and general anesthesia, dental implants and advanced bone grafting utilizing Platelet-Rich Fibrin (PRF), maxillofacial trauma, temporomandibular joint disorders (TMJ), oral and maxillofacial pathology, and oral cancer. He also offers select facial cosmetic procedures, including radiofrequency mole removal, neurotoxins (Botox and Dysport), dermal fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane, PRF microneedling, chemical peels, and facial skeletal procedures including chin and facial implants and genioplasty.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Katz serves as an Associate Adjunct Professor of Surgery at Nova Southeastern University and Broward General Medical Center, where he teaches residents contemporary techniques in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He maintains hospital privileges at Broward General Medical Center, Memorial Regional Medical Center, Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, and Wellington Regional Medical Center. Dr. Katz also serves on the Board of the South Palm Beach County Dental Association.
